Yarn Made From Newspaper

newspaper yarn

Made from old newspapers, this yarn can be woven to become a carpet, a dividing screen and all kinds of upholstery. Now’s that really practical!

Each newspaper page can produce about twenty yards of textile material.

This brilliant idea comes from Greetje van Tiem, a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands and was featured during the Dutch Design Week 2007.
