Types Of Vinegar

  • Balsamic vinegar – made from white Trebbiano grapes and aged in wooden barrels
  • Apple cider vinegar (raw) – made from apples and aged in wooden barrels, contains the mother, a cobweb-like substance made up of yeast and acetic acid bacteria
  • Cane vinegar – made from sugarcane
  • Distilled vinegar – made from corn, wheat, potatoes, beets, wood and apples
  • Fruit vinegar – made from raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, persimmons, tomatos or apples
  • Herb vinegar – usually wine or white vinegar with added herbs such as tarragon, rosemary, sage, basil, mint, dill, garlic or marjoram
  • Malt vinegar – made by malting barley
  • Rice vinegar – made from rice such as white rice, red yeast rice and black glutinous rice.
  • Wine vinegar – made from red or white wine
