Quick Ways To Save Money
- Whenever possible, schedule tasks around the house (e.g. ironing, cleaning and repair works) during the day when there is natural daylight and save on electrical bills.
- Use a fan to keep cool rather than an air-conditioner or head for the nearest mall or library to enjoy the free air-condition on a really hot day.
- Why buy books? Borrow from friends, the public library or rent them.
- Bring a bottle of water and pack some snacks the next time you are heading out so that you will not need to spend on food or drinks whenever you are hungry or thirsty.
- Pack yesterday’s dinner for tomorrow’s lunch.
- Stop any mindless weekly shopping trips.
- Leave credit or ATM cards at home. Bring enough money for transport and meals.
- Talk less on the cell phone and see a difference on the next bill.
- Forget about paying for expensive gym or health club memberships. There are cheaper ways to keep fit : go for a walk or jog by the beach, around the neighbourhood, public parks and gardens, swim in public pools and make use of the fitness equipments found in public parks.
- Scrap plans for faraway overseas vacation. Opt for cheaper places nearby instead.
- Cut dry-cleaning bills by wearing only hand-washable clothes.
- Quit smoking.
- If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money cannot buy.

“Leave credit or ATM cards at home. Bring enough money for transport and meals.”
That one is so true, I’d probably save 100-200$ a week doing this.
Hi Leonid, thanks for dropping by! Indeed, the act of leaving our cards behind should remind us that we want to save and not spend.
