How To Carry A Backpack Properly
- When used improperly, backpack can bring about injuries, even in children. A heavy backpack can cause a person to lead forward in order to offset the extra weight and in the long run, it can cause rounded shoulders and a curved upper back.
- Your backpack should be light enough to enable you to walk upright and not hunch forward.
- It is recommended that the backpack must not weigh more than 10-15% of your body weight.
- Carrying a backpack on one shoulder may force the person to lean to the side
and this can also develop into lower and upper back pain; a strained shoulder and neck. Wear both straps to avoid over-taxing. - Narrow backpack straps on the shoulders can interfere with the nervous system and blood circulation. Choose wide straps, the wider the better. Make sure they are padded.
- Wearing the waist belt on the backpack can help distribute the weight more evenly across the body.
