As little As 10 Minutes On A Cellphone Can Trigger Cancer
For as little as ten minutes of exposure to the radio wave emissions from cellphones, it can trigger changes in the brain associated with cancer development. That’s according to scientists from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel.
The Israeli scientists found that low levels of radiation from handsets interfere with the way brain cells divide. Cell division promotes tumor growth. They had carried out a test by exposing human and rat cells in a laboratory to low-level radiation at 875 megahertz - which is a similar frequency to the one used in many cell phones. The radiation was far weaker than emissions from a typical handset.
Currently, it is assumed that electromagnetic radiation could be harmful due to the thermal heating of body tissue.
