Chewing Gum For Better Thinking
A study conducted by researchers from the University of Northumbria in Newcastle, UK, found that gum-chewing participants could recall more words and performed better in long-term and short-term memory tests as compared to those who did not chew. The psychologists have speculated that the improved performance could be attributed to the increase in heart rate (which delivers more oxygen to the brain) and the surge in insulin to the brain whenever the chewing motion was on-going.
Another thing to note is that gum-chewers’ ability to quickly decide whether complex images matched images they had previously been shown was no better than the controls’.

I’ve not chewed gum since I was a kid…maybe I’d have more brain power if I did–LOL! Very interesting gum facts here, which I did not know before! I removed gum from the sole of a slipper once by sitting the slipper in the freezer for a while, then chipped the gum off–it worked!
Great to know that the freezer helps to harden the gum to make removal easier!
This is true, but it has been known for 6 years already! There are even products that take advantage of this idea, the most recognizable of which is called Think Gum. You can even buy it at www.ThinkGum.com
