Spot The Phish And You Could Win A Gift Card From Amazon
The Carnegie Mellon University has developed a quiz to increase awareness for phishing sites. Phishing sites are fraudulent sites made to look like the actual authentic sites. The aim of such evil plots is to deceive users like you and me, in order to obtain our login and other confidential details.
The online game called Anti-Phishing Phil, is a flash based test that teaches users how to spot fraudulent sites by looking at the site’s URL.
The game gives tips by dissecting site URLs and showing where it’s actually pointing at. Fraudulent sites with misspelled words similar to legit sites are also displayed.
Participants will stand a chance to win a $100 gift card from Amazon by submitting their email at the end of the quiz. There is a follow up quiz after 5-8 days, and CMU will inform users who have submitted their email when the next quiz is available.

I took the quiz, but they didn’t ask me for my e-mail address for a chance to win the $100 Amazon gift card. I did it again and the same thing happened….maybe they’re no longer doing a follow up survey or no longer taking any more names.
Sorry Lynn and thanks for the update! I wasn’t aware of that.
