The Varieties Of Coconut

  • COCONUT MILK
    Made by combining equal parts of water and fresh shredded coconut and then strained through a cheesecloth.

  • COCONUT CREAM
    Made by combing 1 part of water to 3 or 4 parts of shredded coconut.

  • CREAMED COCONUT
    Coconut cream is compressed into blocks. Must be refrigerated.

  • COCONUT FLAKES
    Finely shaved dried coconut.

  • COCONUT OIL
    The fatty oil obtained from the meat of the coconut. Has been used for making soap, cosmetics and skin care products. It moisturizes skin and dry hair, makes hair softer and soothes the scalp.

  • FRESH & RAW SHREDDED COCONUT
    Coarsely grated from fresh coconut flesh.

  • DESICCATED COCONUT
    Finely grated dried coconut flesh.

  • COCONUT MILK POWDER
    Made by spray-drying coconut milk. Warm water is required to dissolve the powder. Used for baking.

  • COCONUT ICE
    A sweetmeat made from desiccated coconut and sugar.
