How to choose a digital watch

  • Battery
Check the lifespan. Some batteries can last up to 10 years without the need for any replacement but of course, the battery life can be shorten if you were to play with the backlight all the time. Also, the longer the watch has been displayed in the watch shop, the more energy would have already been used up, so whoever comes along to buy that watch is not getting a fully-charged battery. Solution? Ask for a new battery!

  • Backlight/Illuminator
Ensure that the illuminator emits a strong light that is bright enough for pitch-dark conditions.

  • Date
If the auto calendar-year set range is between 2000-2099, that means you will not have to worry about adjusting the date (except when the battery is replaced) until after 2099. This is because the watch's logic intelligence has already taken into account the different month lengths and leap years.
