The Floral Ending Of Recycled Plastic Bottles

Image : Flowerfall and the Cascade lamp shade
These are the designs of Michelle Brand, an eco-designer based in Manchester, England. She uses the “floral” base of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) drink bottles to create designs such as cascade chandliers, room dividers and window screens. For each design, every “flower” has to be cut out, sanded down and constructed by tagging them together using tag pins.
Michelle was the Environment Gold Winner for the British Female Inventors and Innovators Awards 2007 for her Flowerfall design.
If you still don’t believe that the base of a flavored drink bottle looks like a flower, it’s time to grab one and take a closer look.
